AASTHA MADAAN, ESQ. 

Aastha is the owner and founder of Madaan Law, P.C..  She focuses her practice in the areas of business law, franchise law, and estate planning. Aastha is a strong advocate of good planning, in life and in business. Aastha often writes and speaks on the topic of cultural competency in the practice of law. She is an advocate for access to legal services and volunteers her time on boards to create better access through legal insurance and innovation. Aastha also writes on topics like legaltech and having an eco-friendly law practice. She takes the time to explain the legal process and answer any questions for potential clients.

Prior to founding Madaan Law, Aastha worked with a boutique business law firm where she practiced business litigation and provided legal advice to small businesses.  She learned the ins and outs of future planning for individuals and businesses, and uses her litigation knowledge to help her client avoid costly and often irreparable mistakes.

When Aastha is not helping clients, she can be found spending time with her dog or writing articles. She also teaches legal writing and research at a local law school.

Aastha enjoys traveling, cooking, art, and community work. Aastha’s roots are in India, and she speaks fluent Hindi and Punjabi.

CHRISTY WESTERFELD, ESQ.

Christy Westerfeld, Esq. is Of Counsel with Madaan Law, P.C. Her practice is focused on transactional intellectual property and business law, primarily advising small businesses and online startups. Christy is extremely passionate about using her legal knowledge and skills to serve small businesses, and takes time to explain the “legal side” of running a business to new entrepreneurs, to help them feel empowered and equipped moving forward into business ownership.

Christy also works as the Assistant Director of Career and Professional Development at a local law school, where she counsels current students and alumni on networking, resume and cover letter drafting, and career strategy, in order to gain happiness and fulfillment in their legal career. She serves as a Co-Vice President of the Whittier Law School Alumni Association and serves as a Bar Exam Preparation Mentor as well, and believes in the importance of giving back and serving new law school graduates to help them succeed. Prior to joining Madaan Law, Christy was an associate with Manning & Kass, Ellrod, Ramirez, Trester LLP in Irvine, CA where she was an asset to the workers’ compensation defense team, as well as the intellectual property team.

She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Whittier Law School in 2012, finishing in the top 8% of her class. She also served as the Law Review’s Lead Articles’ Editor, and graduated as the 2012 Center for Intellectual Property Law Fellow of the Year.

NAFISA KHWAJA, ESQ.
Nafisa is Of Counsel with Madaan Law, P.C.. Her practice is in trademark and copyright law.
Nafisa earned bachelors of arts degrees in Political Science and Criminology from UC Irvine. Nafisa graduated with honors from Whittier Law School where she earned a certificate in Intellectual Property Law, was an editor of the Whittier Law Review, and was a member of the Moot Court Honors Board. She has also completed a summer program in international intellectual property through the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
She has worked with domestic and foreign trademarks in various capacities since 2006, including an internship in trademark law at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). She is well-versed in meeting the needs of clients in various industries, including: technology, fashion, music, food and beverage, clothing, and cosmetics.
When Nafisa is not working, she spends her time with her dog, Raven, and with her husband. Nafisa enjoys baking, bollywood, and traveling.
